WINGS

The Idea Behind The Wings

The creative spirit is something that has always fascinated me. As someone who has had a lifelong passion for art and creative expression, I knew right away that I wanted to combine my interest in art to designthings of valueonce I stepped away from tennis. Wings by Marion B. is theresult of my first step in this creative journey – a new brand of fashion accessories designed to individualise appearancesin unique ways. Currently we have a few different lines of Wings accessories, ranging from shoe ornaments to ankle bracelets and brooches, but we will be announcing new lines and collections in the near future.

The idea behind Wings was that I wanted to create something that symbolised and reflected things in my life that were important to me. The image of two wings represents my personal involvement with the children we care for and look afterthrough our partners at the Marion Bartoli Foundation.

Many of these children, and their families, undergo a lot of hardship and stress in their daily lives, and this symbol was designed in recognition of this, intended to embody a protective pair of custodial wings.

As you can see in the gallery, the front side of the Wings will have an assorted variety of fun and quirky designs, while the back side contains my signature and the Wings by Marion B brand logo on either wing.

While I really enjoyed the creative process incoming up with original designs, I also wanted to create a collection that reflected the influence of tennis, and sport in general, in my life. That's why I decided to create a Wings Sports collection, using simple flag designs, so that people can express their national pride while wearing something self-expressive and individualistic.

In addition to the existing range ofWingsaccessories, I have also teamed up with renowned brand Lemarié, internationally recognised as the top manufacturer in high-end feathers – and regularly featured on Dior, Chanel and Louis Vuitton runways – to develop a brooch called La baie des anges (the Angel Bay). The brooch will come in two flavours, incorporating the Wings design in black or white feathers.

The process of creating Wings has allowed me to combine my passion for art with my desire to help children in need. All the proceeds of Wings accessories sold goes towards my foundation, furthering our ongoing dedication to charitable causes that give these childrena better life.Visit the Charity page to learn more about the programs we’re involved with through the Marion Bartoli Foundation.
